ARCHITECTOUR
is the culmination of a dream, long held since his first trip to Rome on a
modified "Grande Tour" in 1989. Returning three or four times a year since,
Jeff brings an extraordinary breadth of knowledge of Rome and its architecture.
As a graduate student at New York University's Institute of Fine Arts, he
organized three consecutive summer seminars in situ focusing on the
architecture and urbanism of the Eternal City. These courses were led by some
of the most eminent scholars in the History of Art and Architecture, including:
Richard Krautheimer, Kathleen Weil-Garris Brandt (consultant to the Vatican
Museums on the restoration of the Sistine chapel frescos by Michelangelo),
Christof Frommel (Director, Biblioteca Hertziana, Rome) and Joseph Connors
(former Director, American Academy in Rome and professor of Art History and
Architecture at Columbia University).
With the creation of ARCHITECTOUR, Jeff has incorporated these glorious years
of graduate study into an accessible, yet intensive survey of the history
of Rome through its architectural and cultural heritage.
